Blue Robotics 4" Dome - Strap Attachment

On my ROV build I needed to add straps to hold the tubes together and to secure them to the frame of the ROV. Original plates attached to flanges were custom laser cut, but the team wanted to switch to BlueRobotics domes without strap holes. A faceplate can be attached to a 4" dome to add strap holes. The original FreeCAD file and an STL are available for download. Also, check out the team's Facebook page for photos and videos of the entire ROV. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Makerfarm Prusa i3v Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 100% Notes: I printed mine with an overfill (extrusion multiplier set to 105%) and then removed all extra beads and plastic with a knife for a smooth finish. I sanded it with 150-220-440-800-1000 grit sandpaper, then applied a clear coat to get the final result: a part that looks almost identical to injection molded plastic.
