Blue Nude II - Henri Matisse
thingiverse
Blue Nudes, a series of paper cutouts by Henri Matisse created in 1952, features female nude figures either seated or standing. This masterpiece marked the last works of Matisse in any medium as he ceased painting due to poor health and turned to paper cutouts instead. The Blue Nudes belong to Matisse's final collection known as cutouts. The color blue signified distance and volume for the artist, who initially used single-color slabs early in his career due to struggles with dominant and contrasting tones. This series was inspired by Matisse's African sculpture collection and his visit to Tahiti in 1930, with the final synthesis occurring after a period of incapacity following an operation twenty years later.[2]
