Artist: Cynthia Fraula-Hahn plaster embedded gauze, acrylic As I wrapped my friend twenty years after her single mastectomy, I witnessed how many friends had deserted her. They couldn't cope with what she went through at the time, and that led to even more loss and heartache. She found immense comfort in blue herons, a special connection that brought back memories of her sister who also battled breast cancer and underwent a similar surgery.
