Blue Crown (War Crown / Khepresh)
sketchfab
The Blue Crown, also known as the War Crown, makes its first appearance in ancient Egyptian texts during the Second Intermediate Period. It's one of the most frequently seen headpieces worn by kings and gods alike. Some illustrations feature a raised pattern on the crown, while others show it plain. The Blue Crown may have evolved from the cap crown, and is often decorated with circlets. The earliest detailed depiction of the crown dates back to the reign of Kamose. Its appearance in various contexts suggests that it became the ultimate symbol of a living ruler's power, capable of incorporating elements from other headpieces. When both the Blue Crown and nemes are shown together, they seem to signify a deceased king.
