Blue Bird House
thingiverse
This is a bluebird house I drew up. I still need to print a full size model in the next few days. The western bluebird nests in cavities made by woodpeckers and feeds on small insects. This bird house should provide the bluebird a place to live to help keep your garden bug population under control. The opening is facing down slightly and has no stick perch to prevent other birds from raiding the birdhouse. The opening is 1.5" wide to prevent starlings (invasive) from fitting in. Ventilation holes prevent the birdhouse from getting nasty. Front panel pops in place and can be removed to clean the birdhouse. I have a large 300x300 print bed, and can print this all at once for approximately 500g of filament. You will need to scale to your print bed. The standard file shouldn't require supports to print, the door that allows for more room will need support. Bluebirds are a cool looking thrush that has been losing nesting sites due to invasive European starlings and house sparrows. Printing a few birdhouses in something weather resistant like PETG would be easy and benefit these little birds a lot.
