BLTouch Sensor Mount - Geeetech G2S Pro Mini

thingiverse

Here's a mount to install a BLTouch Auto Leveling Sensor on a Geeetech G2s Pro Mini. This mount replaces and utilizes the existing location and bolts of the stock leveling switch. You'll need a couple M3x20mm bolts with nuts to secure the sensor to the mount. Additionally, you'll require extra cabling to run the connections from the probe to the GT2560 board, where some soldering will be necessary to connect them. The three servo pins from the BLTouch (orange, red, and brown) must be soldered to the GT2560, but the switch pins (black, white) are crimped to female connectors and connect to the Z-Min connector on the board. For a schematic of where to solder the servo pins, see the attached picture above. The offsets for Configuration.h in Marlin are as follows: X_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -41.2 Y_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -10.70 Z_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -0.90 Tweak the Z_PROBE_OFFSET for your setup as needed, of course, and consult the great BLTouch Google Plus group for all other configuration needs. I've included my Configuration.h and pins_ULTIMAKER.h from Marlin RC-7 as examples. Important Note - When you first turn on your G2S Pro, the BLTouch will self-test. If your hot end is sitting on the bed, the pin will drop twice and tap the bed. Seeing that it's contacting a surface, the BLTouch will trigger an alarm and flash. Once you've connected, you can issue a M280 P0 S160 to clear the alarm and everything should run fine from there. I'm looking into how far I might have to raise the probe so it won't alarm but still sense the bed correctly. Carriage clips will also keep this from happening since the hot end is up off the bed when the printer fires up. Update (2-13-17): Geeetech has updated the GT2560 to Rev A+. One of the things they added is a 3-pin SERVO connector that breaks out the necessary pins to operate the BLTouch without having to solder the servo connections to the board! They sell the board separately and I'm guessing will be included in future kits if not already. Update (6-12-17): Marlin 1.1.3 has made its way out into the world with its improved support for auto-leveling and the BLTouch. I've uploaded my Configuration.h and Pins files for reference. I did retrofit my printer with a new GT2560 A+ due to a failure with my original board when I had an issue with a cooling fan that died due to a poorly soldered connection. The SERVO connection on the A+ board is nice and worked like a charm. Note that the servo pin it uses is pin 11 which is different from the previous configuration. If you're going to install a BLTouch and have the means, I fully recommend spending the cash to get a GT2560 A+ (if you don't already have one) and using the new SERVO connector instead of soldering to the old board. Update (9-15-17): Uploaded Marlin 1.1.6 Configuration.h. Also uploaded a revised v2 model with corrected bolt hole spacing for the bolts that connect to the printer. The original model with incorrect spacing has been removed. Happy Printing!
