Bloxen, Bramble

Bloxen, Bramble

Dryads fiercely safeguard their glade remnants, as stated by Qie Zi in The Art of Seej. For years, I desired to create a model that would be challenging to fabricate using conventional methods. Most other bloxen models I've designed could potentially be sculpted, injection-molded or cast; however, the Bramble Bloxen design poses a challenge to traditional manufacturing processes. Moreover, it was an opportunity to push the boundaries of my FDM printers. The model features internal supports and minimal overhangs, but it's likely that I missed a >45° vine or two in the complex tangle. Kestenbaum, the squirrel, perches on a half-buried skull, while other Easter Eggs are hidden within the thicket. Printing with high infill and/or at least 2 shells is recommended to maintain strength and avoid snagging top layer vines during printing. The thorny tenons of this intricate bloxen interlock with other Seej-standard models. Interestingly, the photo displays a 200% scaled bloxen; I'm waiting for a next-generation FDM printer before attempting 1:1 scale printing.
