thingiverse
This is a DIY cooling fan upgrade for the MTW Minimax printer. You'll need to swap out the 40mm axial fan that comes with the kit for a cheap and readily available 4020 blower fan (40mm x 20mm).\nThe enclosed duct directs airflow exactly where it's needed around the nozzle, avoiding overheating of the heater block by keeping it separate.\nYou won't need any supports printing these parts from ABS plastic.\nIn addition to the printed parts you'll also require;\n1 x centrifugal (blower) fan model 4020\n2 x M3 screws with a length of 30mm, including nuts\n1 x M3 screw with a length of 25mm and nut*\n1 x M3 screw with a length of 40mm and nut*\nNyloc nuts are the best choice but you can manage without them if needed.\nAfter printing, assembly is quite straightforward; just follow the attached photo to ensure proper installation.\nTo do this, turn your hotend so that the wires face the printer's rear and slide it through a slot in the duct. The longer screws hold the assembly on the Y carriage while two 30mm long screws are used to secure the fan.\nIf you install the fan and find it can't travel all the way back, swap out the end stop mount for the provided one - just reuse those M2 nuts and no new fasteners will be needed!\nPrint Settings: Printer:\n MTW Minimax\n \n Rafts: \n Don't Use It\n \n Supports: \n No\n \n Notes:\n You have to print with your own favorite settings but remember;\nBridges need to print without fail and only then proceed printing the main duct part.
