extrusion die used for creation of ceramic blower burner heads. welding fixture for creating an extruder die. This extruder die produces ceramic blower burner heads for use in LP or natural gas pottery kilns, and glass equipment. This piece is a work in progress, I will be attempting to print it in the near future, I have already created one extruder die with a similar fixture. This printed part will aid in fixturing the next version of the die. Instructions pieces of 5/16" rod are placed into the holes in the fixture, "bridges" are welded in place on top of the 5/16th rod. A perimeter for the die will also most likely need to be printed in the near future. The die is placed in a manual ceramic extruder and clay is pushed via leverage through the die to produce a cylinder with a lot of holes to produce a clean efficient burn without contaminating your glass or pottery with iron flakes as a steel burner head would. This is my design based very loosely on Dudley Giberson's (Joppa glass works) Ceramic blower burner head. I did use charts out of Giberson's "Glass Blowers Companion" book to calculate the needed LP aperture. Natural gas will require a different size hole.
