BloqChain - Easy Zero Infill Chain Links
thingiverse
Make. Break. Repeat! on Facebook: Updates every Tuesday and Thursday!* The BloqChain is the solution to the 3D printed chain link challenge. I conducted extensive research on this topic as I required a robust chain to hang my (upcoming) PowerBloq device from the workshop ceiling. None of the chains I found met my three requirements: - Two parts for effortless assembly - Sturdy at 0% infill - No weakness introduced due to FDM printing The resulting chain is already quite robust at 0% infill with 2 perimeters, top and bottom layers printed at 0.25 mm layer height. Printed at 10% infill, 3 perimeters, top and bottom layers I was unable to break the chain. Mission accomplished, BloqChain is a success. I might add complete chain so that each link does not need to be assembled separately. Also sturdy wall and ceiling mounts are almost finished in my brain, but still need to be modelled.
