Blooming Flower Stool

I designed this chair specifically for use with the Wasp printer. At its base, the chair begins as a complex geometric shape, but as it rises, it morphs into a vibrant flower. This transformation is equally evident in the color scheme I selected. Initially, the design is dark and unrecognizable, but it gradually lightens as it assumes the form of a flower. The upper layers are colored, with this particular example featuring a bold red hue. However, I envision a scenario where multiple chairs, each sporting a unique top layer color, could create a striking visual effect reminiscent of a lush field of flowers. Comfort is not a primary concern for this design, but users can easily address this issue by placing a cushion or flat surface atop the chair. Alternatively, a larger flat surface could be used to transform the chair into a compact table, with glass being the ideal material choice to ensure that every aspect of the design remains visible. To test the printer's capabilities, I printed one chair at 20% of its original size using the vase mode and sliced it in Cura with a layer height of .3.
