The steering wheel of Bloodhound SSC supersonic car is multifunctional, drawing inspiration from Formula Racing car wheels. Thrust, airbrake, afterburners, and emergency cut-off controls are positioned on the upper section for easy access with thumbs. Parachute deployment is electronically controlled by paddles located at the back of the wheel, providing a wider surface area in stressful situations. Lower section houses switches for starting procedure (battery switch, fuel pump activation, ignition button) to prevent accidental starts and stops.
