My name is Taavi Simson, and I have a clear vision for the Bloodhound SSC steering wheel's design. When creating dimensions, I drew inspiration from real-world conditions to ensure maximum efficiency. The steering wheel is designed to be slightly wider than usual, allowing the driver to turn it with less force due to increased momentum. To provide optimal comfort and control, handlebars are curved to fit hands perfectly. These handles are covered in supple leather, giving drivers a superior grip on the road. Constructed from hollow plastic, every unnecessary gram is shaved off, allowing for a competitive edge when striving for world records. Engine start and stop buttons are strategically positioned on opposite sides of the wheel, simplifying navigation and quickening the learning process for pilots. The thumb-activated controls, prioritized for importance, include Engine Start, Engine Stop, Air Brake, Power Increase/Decrease, Main Shute, and Back Up button for the Main Shute - designed with safety as top priority. With both hands grasping the wheel, errors become significantly less probable. Vital indicators illuminate with warning LEDs to immediately alert pilots of any issues affecting key components. Below these warning lights lies a prominent info screen, where speed or essential data are displayed at a glance. On either side of the screen, two rotatable buttons adjust settings prior to racing or after it's completed. Strategically positioned near thumb reach for convenient access while driving. Inspired by Formula-1 cars, easy installation and removal ensure optimal handling in all driving conditions. The entire setup prioritizes performance-driven design to guarantee unmatched control during high-speed excursions.
