Taavi Simson's envisioned future Bloodhound SSC steering wheel incorporates practical design elements for optimal performance. The wider handelbars reduce the force needed to turn, while maintaining a lightweight construction through hollow plastic casing. Leather-covered handelbars ensure a secure grip, and buttons are strategically placed for easy access and operation with minimal distraction. Starting and stopping buttons are positioned on opposite sides of the wheel, with essential functions such as engine start, stop, air brake, power adjustment, main shute activation/deactivation, and backup controls within thumb reach. Additionally, warning LEDs signal potential issues, while a large infoscreen displays speed and other vital data. Two turnable buttons under the infoscreen allow for pre-race and post-race adjustments, with their location in the corners preventing inadvertent use during driving. Crucially, important controls are placed near the pilot's thumbs for ease of use while focusing on the road ahead. The steering wheel's fixing mechanism mimics Formula-1 cars, enabling quick and easy attachment and removal.
