Block On Bed v3
thingiverse
My project is to transform the base Prusa i3 into a multi-tool with minimal modifications and optimized printable components. Originally designed for the Prusa i3 P802M/MA 4mm thick 3D Printers' bed, but can fit on others too! To restrain material on the printer bed, we need a fixation system. The challenge with Prusa i3 3D printers is that there isn't much space around the moving bed to fit any system. So, if you want to use your printer as a CNC plotter, miller, laser engraver or just extrude filament on another material and/or at more height on the bed, you'll need stable, tight and precise fixation. BlockOnBed is born! Optimized to be printable in 20 cm x 20 cm x 20 cm area. Designed to be just outside the 20 cm x 20 cm x 20 cm so there's no loss of print/work surface. A ruler in centimeters at bed level. The fixations consist of two pieces: one stationary and one mobile inserted into guides above the new material lying on the printer bed. Then these two pieces are secured tightly with a set of screws and nuts (5mm or/and 3mm).
