Blobbies
thingiverse
Blobbies are joyful creatures that can't help but feel excitement in every situation. Even when one of them gets flattened right before their own eyes, they simply burst into cheers and enthusiastic applause. Nothing seems to get them down. Print Settings Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Notes: The Blobbies print up quickly without any need for extra support material. However, if you decide to go with the version featuring separate eyes, it's highly recommended that you use a raft or first-layer support for those pesky little orbs. If you'd like to give them some extra flair, there are versions of the eyes and pupils available that have been optimized for printing at 150% or 75% size. Keep in mind that even with the increased size, the 150% version still works just fine on a print scale of 200%. Post-Printing Give those cheerful little guys a good push to set their peepers in place. Just be careful not to snap off their arms while you're at it - holding them while doing so can cause a bit of stress. For the optional pupils, simply stick 'em right into their designated holes and secure with some glue. My ABS-printed Blobbies are looking sleek and shiny thanks to an aceton vapor treatment. I started by drenching some paper towels in good ol' fashioned acetone, hung 'em from a hook inside a non-ABS plastic container, popped the Blobbies in for a few hours, and voila - those rough ABS edges were smoothed out in no time! As an added bonus, my eyeballs received a spritz of clear coat for some extra protection.
