Blinking Christmas Tree with a different base
thingiverse
The initial project on my Mendel90 printer was a Blinking Christmas tree, assembled from Nophead's kit. The result exceeded expectations. To improve, I modified the base to accommodate a power supply connector and opted for flashing LEDs instead of building multivibrator circuits. The base hole is 8mm in diameter, fitting standard DC connectors. An old mobile phone adapter (700mA, 5V) was used, ensuring correct polarity. Eight parallel pairs of two-series LEDs were wired. Secure the top part of the base with self-tapping screws (3mm/No.4s), routing power wires through the hole. Connect the LEDs to the power leads and fix the base to the tree, drilling corresponding holes first. I used Greenery Green for the tree and Woodland Brown for the base by Faberdashery.
