Blink Outdoor Mount for 60mm rain gutter drain pipes
thingiverse
Situation: It was desired to mount a security camera type Blink Outdoor. The facade of the house was freshly renovated with thermal isolation, so it was not desired to drill into the facade. So the camera shall be mounted on a drain pipe of a rain gutter with 60mm diameter. This holder requires 3 brass thread inserts M5x5.8 (e.g. CNC Kitchen or Ruthex). It is not made for the simple holder coming with the Blink Outdoor, it is for the generic china aftermarket camera holders also available on Amazon with the adjustable pivot joint (see pictures). Screw down the camera holder to the socket with 3 M5 screws. Fix to the drain pipe with 2 pipe clamps with screw adjustment for 50-70mm diameter. My first prototype is the "streamlined" version which looks a little nicer. However, with my Ender 3 V2, I was only able to print this in PLA+, as ABS would warp too much. A colleague offered me to print a version in ABS for better weather resistance but experienced issues with the top layers of the socket, which for some reason improved the cone shape with a full cylinder. I actually don't know what his problem was, but if you experience the same problems, try printing the full cylinder version. The overhangs generally work without support.
