Blinds / Shades Pull Cord Grip & Extension
thingiverse
I wanted a cord pull that was not only visually appealing but also incredibly strong and easy to use with my mini-blind shades. This raindrop-shaped pull delivers, with an ergonomic design that's simple to grip and a secure screw-together mechanism that creates a virtually unbreakable link. What sets this design apart from other options I found on Thingiverse is its versatility - it can function as a coupler to extend the reach of your cord, giving you greater flexibility when adjusting your blinds. The two halves of the pull simply screw together with ease and security, creating a seamless joint that's almost invisible when assembled. As an added bonus, the cord knots are neatly hidden inside the pull's interior cavity, keeping them out of sight and reducing clutter. I used Autodesk Inventor to design this pull, leveraging the excellent threadModeler add-on by coolOrange to create a precise physical model of the M12x1.5 threads that make it so easy to print. Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer Model: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .2mm Infill: 50% Notes: Shells are more critical than infill in this design, thanks to the strength requirements at the screw threads. I used three shells with great success.
