Blinder - Curtain Clips for Preventing Light Leakage

Blinder - Curtain Clips for Preventing Light Leakage

thingiverse

I spent the last 3 weeks developing this concept in order to solve the issue of curtain light linkage at home, on a budget, and for any DIY 3D printer user. I found resounding success in my own home and I only used inexpensive household and DIY items. I tested the torsion springs from multiple standard size clothespin brands and all worked with the design, however a noticeable range of spring metal quality was noted (even if they were all from the same package). In the end I was able to adjust the CAD to use even the worst springs. I have provide both STL's and solidworks part files. I have included a base that fits the clip so you can design any cover you want! the dimensions for the nubs that fit the clips are: Two circles with a diameter of 6mm, extruded 5mm (or 4mm) with a 1 degree taper, space the circles 25mm apart. Alternatively just import "LowPolyBearwithbase.stl" and use the nubs however you choose. As a young industrial designer I've chosen to share this under CC BY-NC-SA. You're welcome to remix this, please credit me and do not re-purpose my concept for commercial use.
