A machine gun built in Spain from 1932 to 1936 was known as the "automotive MG," although it was also referred to as the Bilbao Modified Vehicle Mod: 1932. At the beginning of 1931, the new government of the second republic recognized the need to strengthen and expand the Security Corps. The rear hull was extended with a compartment for luggage and spare parts. A fully rotating turret in the center of the roof housed a hatch and a base for a 7mm Hotchkiss machine gun: 1924 MMG. It was equipped with a turret mounted with a 7mm Hotchkiss machine gun. By the start of the war, forty machines remained with the government, while seven went to the rebels.
