Blimpduino Gondola
thingiverse
This is a custom gondola design created for my build of the Blimpduino project, a DIYDrones initiative. The gondola hangs below the gas envelope and serves as a mounting platform for flight control systems within the blimp (including the circuit board, motors and props, battery, sensors, etc). Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: Layer thickness set at 200 microns Infill: Infill density set at 100% Notes: This design aims to create a thin and flexible gondola that can securely hold the battery and circuit board in place, preventing them from falling out. I've included slots for running zip-ties around the servo and through the battery/circuit board holder to secure components firmly in place. The end of the gondola features stalks to help secure Lego pieces on the motor shaft. To provide additional space for a flight control receiver in case manual flying is desired, the gondola has been designed longer than necessary. Its streamlined design aims to minimize weight while ensuring structural integrity. Design Process This custom gondola was created using Autodesk Inventor Pro, a powerful CAD software that enables precise modeling and simulation of 3D designs.
