I designed this prop specifically for a stage production, where functionality and realism are crucial. The handle and blade have hollow designs that allow for easy printing with no supports needed. The handle can be printed without any support material, while the blade requires minimal support under the nipple area. A key feature of the design is the nipple located on the back of the blade, which allows for the attachment of surgical tubing. This tubing can then be routed up the handle and through a hole at the top near the back, enabling it to connect seamlessly to a syringe or pump. To create a realistic effect, I filled the device with stage blood, which is carefully squeezed out as the actor drags the blade across their victim's throat, creating a convincing flow of blood from a small opening hidden on the edge of the blade. I used black latex tubing with an inner diameter of 6mm and an outer diameter of 9mm. The catheter tip syringe I selected has a capacity of 60ml.
