Bleacher Box
thingiverse
This design is inspired by the Stanford d.School's iconic bleacher box, but it has been streamlined to fit perfectly on a single 4x8' sheet of 3/4" plywood (17"x27"x27"). The dimensions have been tweaked to make it one inch shorter and three inches narrower in both width and depth. One notable change is the reduction of ovals from four sides to just three, allowing the box to be set on its side and sat upon comfortably. A feature of this design is the use of finger joints all around the box, which requires a CNC router to cut out with over cutting set to true in order for the joints to fully interlock. Additionally, 1/4" holes are drilled into both the top and bottom of the box, enabling the addition of indexing objects that allow multiple boxes to stack together seamlessly like Lego bricks.
