A BLDC (Brushless DC) motor is a type of electric motor that uses electronic commutation instead of a mechanical commutation system (such as brushes) to control the rotation of the motor. The working principle of a BLDC motor is based on the interaction between the magnetic fields of the stator and the rotor, which creates torque to drive the motor. The motor consists of a rotor with permanent magnets and a stator with electromagnetic coils. When the current flows through the stator coils, it generates a magnetic field that interacts with the magnetic field of the rotor, causing the rotor to rotate. The electronic commutation system, usually consisting of a microcontroller and a set of Hall effect sensors, controls the current flow to the stator coils and the timing of the commutation, which determines the direction and speed of the motor rotation. The advantages of a BLDC motor over a traditional brushed DC motor include higher efficiency, longer lifespan, lower maintenance, and smoother operation with less noise and vibration.Applications of BLDC motors are diverse and include industries such as robotics, automation, automotive, aerospace, and medical devices.
