Our van doesn't have a rear view mirror but had a nice holder already mounted on the windscreen. Since vacuum mounts tend to fall off and gluing a holder isn't my thing, I designed a simple mount that snaps into place. You need to take apart the original vacuum mount to get the screw and nut, print this, remove supports and you're done. I printed this facing down (glass side down) as it looks nicer this way :) Print Settings Printer Brand: Prusa Printer: I3 MK3S Supports: Yes Resolution: 0,1 mm Infill: 15% Filament: Prusament PETG Jet black Notes: I printed it on PEI spring steel sheet, with 240 °C nozzle temperature and 90 °C bed temperature. In Slic3r I only enabled automatic supports and that's it, actually :) Post-Printing ============= Optional After printing remove all the supports using nose pliers, they should come off easily. The only thing you might need to do is put the screw through square holes once or twice by hand first so it sits nicely. How I Designed This I used student edition of Solidworks for making this, version 2019. I could optimize the Solidworks file but I finished at 3 AM and just didn't bother :) Category: Camera
