Model SC174, a masterpiece of the Harvard Museum of Comparative Zoology Collection of Blaschka Marine Invertebrates, is a stunning ~7-inch glass replica of the Sea Cucumber, Sporadipus tremula. Crafted by the ingenious father-and-son duo Rudolf and Leopold Blaschka in the late 1800s, this exquisite glass model is one of thousands created to educate and inspire. Initially designed as educational tools, these magnificent models are now proudly displayed in over 50 institutions worldwide, with major collections housed at Cornell, the Corning Glass Museum, Harvard University, and University College Dublin. The intricate 3D model was meticulously crafted from ~200 photographs taken at the MCZ, using Agisoft Photoscan for photogrammetry processing and Blender for minor touch-ups.
