The Model SC168 of the Harvard Museum of Comparative Zoology Collection of Blaschka Marine Invertebrates showcases a remarkably accurate ~5-inch glass replica of the Holothuria maculata Sea Cucumber. Crafted by renowned father-and-son team Rudolf and Leopold Blaschka in the late 1800s, this intricate glass model is one of thousands created with precision and care. Originally designed as educational tools, these exquisite models are now proudly displayed in over 50 institutions worldwide. Major collections can be found at Cornell University, the Corning Glass Museum, Harvard University, and University College, Dublin. This 3D model was painstakingly reconstructed from ~200 photographs taken at the MCZ using photogrammetry software, with Agisoft Photoscan utilized for processing and minor touch-ups applied in Blender to achieve perfection.
