Micro CT scan of a Blaschka model showcasing the intricate details of Sycandra Raphanus from the D'Arcy Thompson Zoology Museum at the University of Dundee, Scotland. DUNUC 9319 - A partially complete glass model measuring 9cm in width perfectly captures the development stage of this sponge species. D'Arcy Thompson acquired an exquisite collection of Blaschka's delicate glass models back in 1888. In his groundbreaking book, Growth and Form, D'Arcy frequently references the skillful artistry of the glass-blower, likely drawing inspiration from these very same models. This scan was conducted using a high-tech Nikon XT H 225ST micro CT scanner. The resulting file has been expertly converted into an STL format and seamlessly integrated into Zbrush for further enhancement. We're eager to hear about your experiences with our models if you choose to download or print them, especially if they contribute to educational endeavors or outreach programs.
