Model B-560, a Cephalopod, Phylum:Mollusca, Genus: Loligo, Species:berthelotii from the Cornell University Collection of Blaschka Marine Invertebrates curated by Professor Drew Harvell. This 2.5-inch glass model represents a marine invertebrate of similar size. Thousands of such models were crafted by Rudolf and Leopold Blaschka in the late 1800s, originally intended as educational tools. Today, their creations are held in collections at over 50 institutions worldwide, with major holdings at Cornell University, the Corning Glass Museum, Harvard University, and University College, Dublin. The three-dimensional model was generated from approximately 300 photographs taken by David Brown of Cornell's Johnson Museum, using photogrammetry techniques in Agisoft Photoscan, with minor adjustments made in Blender (3D model # D1c3-a).
