Models of the Blanco Fracture Zone, situated in the eastern Pacific near Oregon, are available in scales 1:2,000,000 and 1:5,000,000. Both models have a size of 150mm and a vertical exaggeration of 5X. Data for these models was obtained from NOAA National Geophysical Data Center (http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/mgg/bathymetry/) using MapWindowGIS, Sketchup, and the "Heightmap to Mesh" plugin. Cleanup was done with Netfabb and Meshlab (www.netfabb.com, meshlab.sourceforge.net). The models are also used in an educational setting as reported in a recent Geological Society of America meeting poster on Universal Design for geoscience education. Additional files, including the real data sources, workflow videos, and conventional map scales conversion for introductory-level college geology courses, have been added to the "Thing Files" tab.
