Blake's 7 Liberator Engine Dome Remix (Dual Extrusion, Hollowed)
thingiverse
A couple of years ago, I built most of Peter G71's excellent Liberator, which you can find here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1622169/remixes Life got in the way, and I had built and assembled everything except the two engine domes and the nacelle spikes before it was placed on top of my bookshelf and there it has sat, until today. I recently obtained a new dual extrusion printer, and so I modified the rear fuselage and created a new hollow engine dome to be printed in two colors as a test run for my new machine. The entire thing prints in one piece and is hollowed out much more to 1) make it more translucent and 2) to allow you to jam whatever lighting and electronics in there that you see fit. Update: For something I printed on a brand new printer, never having made a dual extrusion print before, this came out better than I expected. This printed in place with no supports. I also added pointy spike to the rear of the fuselage/engine housing, though I am not yet fully satisfied with the curve of it and may revise it further.
