Blade of the Faith (Dragon Age: Inquisition Sword)
thingiverse
This sword is inspired by Cassandra Pentaghast's inaugural sword from Dragon Age: Inquisition, proudly displaying the Inquisiton's emblem. Measuring 90 cm in length, this full-sized sword is ideal for hanging from a belt when worn by someone of my height, 170cm. However, its length can be adjusted by printing multiple blade sections. The blade has been deliberately made slightly thicker to comply with Dutch laws regarding public display of fake weapons that could be mistaken for real ones. Feel free to modify it and thin it out to your liking, provided you won't be carrying it in public in the Netherlands. To assemble this sword, print each section except for number 4, which requires three copies. The only part needing support is the crosspiece (3). Use superglue to bond flat sections in PLA, and reinforce the center with a dowel to enhance stability. Finish by sanding and priming until you're exhausted, then sand some more, and when you've lost all motivation, paint it and wrap the handle in leather. Due to the required sanding process, some areas along the vertical symmetry may develop sharper edges than intended, but this won't be a concern since you'll be sanding them anyway.
