This is a precision blade 230s tail boom slotting jig. Position one piece of the jig on each end of the tail boom after cutting the boom to length. Then, snap the jig down firmly onto the workbench to align the holes for the slots. K&S #9807 aluminum tubes are used for the new boom assembly. The cost is approximately $4 for two tubes shipped. Drill a 3/32 inch hole through both sides of the tube. Next, drill a larger 1/8 inch hole through one side only. Finally, use a Dremel tool to carefully cut the hole all the way to the end of the boom, creating three precise slots. The new boom design allows for a stretched length of up to 40mm. In comparison, a boom cut to the exact same size as the original part is approximately 1 gram lighter. The 40mm cut-off end can be repurposed into a reamer for a perfect-fitting jig. Simply cut teeth into one end with a file, then score the outside of the tube with a hobby knife. Once complete, chuck it in a drill and use it to ream the jig.
