Blade 230s replacement skids
thingiverse
Blade replacement skids arrive, boasting a remarkable 1g weight reduction and impressive strength, perhaps even surpassing their predecessors. Their sleeker design is undeniably captivating. These new skids expand by approximately 15mm in width and 2mm in height. An enticing cost-cutting measure makes them significantly more affordable at $1.20 for the aluminum skid tubs, specifically K&S 5/32 #8103. Begin by cutting tube to precisely 141mm, then utilize a skid tube bending tool to bend it about halfway to its stopping point. To prevent crushing the bend, insert a lubricated nylon 1/8 rod into the tube before bending, and carefully remove it afterwards. Next, print pipe plugs at 10% over size, secure them within the skid pipes with adhesive, and smooth out any imperfections. Secure the skid supports to your helicopter, attach the newly fabricated skid pipes, and fine-tune their positioning as desired, ultimately fixing them firmly in place using glue.
