Blackpool Football Club is a football club based in the seaside town of Blackpool, Lancashire, which competes in League One, the third tier of English football. Founded in 1887, Blackpool's home ground since 1901 has been Bloomfield Road. Its current capacity is 17,338 with all seats, prior to all seats the capacity was 38,000. 25 August 1900 that the club – then back in Division Two — returned to Bloomfield Road. The ground had one stand, a small structure on the western side, which held about 300 seated. Gainsborough Trinity were the first visitors to Bloomfield Road for a Football League game. On 8 September 1900, they drew 1–1 with the Seasiders, in front of just under 2,000. It was not until the start of the 1901–02 season that Bloomfield Road became the permanent home of Blackpool Football Club. The club won its first League game at Bloomfield Road on 12 October 1901, defeating Doncaster Rovers 3–1.
