Bloomfield Road serves as a football stadium in Blackpool, Lancashire, England, and has been the primary home of Blackpool F.C. since 1901. The ground initially operated under the name Gamble's Field, named after the farmer who owned the land, when South Shore F.C. used it for games in the Lancashire League in 1899. The first competitive match held at the stadium occurred on October 21, 1899, with South Shore facing off against the 1st South Lancashire Regiment. When Blackpool F.C. merged with South Shore F.C. in mid-December 1899, the former club moved into the latter's ground and changed its name to Bloomfield Road. Additionally, the two clubs combined their schedules from the Lancashire League fixtures of Blackpool due to the perceived ease of those games compared to South Shore. Bloomfield Road became the permanent home of Blackpool Football Club at the start of the 1901-02 season. The club secured its first league victory at Bloomfield Road on October 12, 1901, by defeating Doncaster Rovers with a score of 3-1.
