Blackout curtain rail
thingiverse
I'm looking into creating a simple rail to effectively block out the sun using regular blackout curtains. The rail itself measures 175 mm in length, making it compatible with a wide range of printers. For my specific window setup, I required 1400 mm tall rails, which translates to printing 8 parts per rail for a total of 16 parts per window. Plating is definitely an option, and I successfully printed mine using two parts per plate. Initially, I attempted four at once but the large surface area and thin walls caused the parts to cool too quickly, resulting in layer separation.
