Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Screen Hood

Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Screen Hood

I designed a custom camera hood specifically for my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera, which helps the screen be more visible during the day without a hood. The cardboard used should have a weight between 110 and 140 grams per square meter. Files uploaded are an updated version, with the older one in photos showing a version without the flaps that keep the design in place better. The camera hood can be cut either by hand or using a lasercutter, with templates available for both methods. Using a lasercutter makes it very easy to cut; just download the file and cut it out of cardboard (preferably 110-140 GSM). If you don't have access to a lasercutter, you can still cut it out yourself - just be prepared for the possibility that the holes may require some extra effort. Attaching the hood is relatively simple: it lines up with the 1/4-inch screws on the camera's top and bottom and can be secured in place with whatever fasteners work best. The small flaps help to keep everything steady. When you don't plan to use your camera in a rig, attaching it directly with 1/4-inch bolts works really well.
