Blackboard - Reader Device Challenge

Blackboard - Reader Device Challenge

grabcad

This design proposal for the Blackboard Reader Device Challenge envisions a straightforward, visually modern plastic device with walls drafted at 2 degrees to facilitate easy assembly. The main case consists of four parts: top, bottom, magstrip reader insert and battery door cover, all secured by #2 screws. Internal ribbing ensures both sleekness and strength. LED indicators inform users about payment status, Bluetooth connection, power levels, and sleep mode. Ergonomically designed for one-handed use, the device could also accommodate a hand strap for added convenience. A horizontal stand would plug into the micro-USB port but was not modeled due to time constraints. Other improvements may include a slimmer battery and smaller magnetic strip reader head, potentially using a Samsung ICP463446 920mAh battery for a more compact package than Varta easypack.
