A system for physics demonstrations on a blackboard, bulletin board or whiteboard is created because the only similar item available costs over $1000. This system will be developed during the summer to incorporate as much standard physics lab equipment as possible. Being able to perform certain demonstrations on the board is invaluable. With a pendulum, students can mark the position of the max amplitude and measure the change in height and the amplitude easily. Projectile motion is also nice because students can guess and draw the path of the projectile. A photogate will be set up and other vernier sensors may be involved. Demonstrations already included are: Balancing Lever Pendulum K'nex Pulley K'nex Gears Ramps for projectile motion (a 3D printed design is available) Still to come are: Suction cup options (a strong magnet is needed to handle demonstrations with weights - suction cups on a whiteboard or smartboard would hold up better). A design will be built off of 'suction cup shelf' to create flat ramps, etc. (as well as chalk/pushpin organizers) Physical Vectors that can be moved around and possibly scaled General improvements to the design Suggestions are more than welcomed. 1/2" magnets are being used.
