Blackboard Challenge AM_01
grabcad
In this project, the main goal was to meet as many listed criteria as possible. The contactless credential was angled and designed ergonomically for right-handed users but can be used by anyone. The magstripe was also placed at an angle and could be optional with a blank component. A pin pad included braille keys, which were optional and came with a blank cover plate if not needed. Audible feedback was integrated, while visual feedback displayed power, entry, and denied messages in an angled and shaped format. To mount the unit, a unique approach was taken by using wall plugs/rawl-bolts/Hextech instead of tamper-proof screws, assuming that the correct 'Roadmap' would be followed to prevent removal. Four mounting options were proposed: option 1 involved using wall plugs with protruding tags, option 2 incorporated holes matching a 2x4 gangbox for the magstripe and original PC board, option 3 featured a universal spacer for various mullion sizes, and option 4 was designed for pole mounting around turnstile gates. An optional protective visor was included, serving as a gasket between two mounting plates or a company logo-printed cover plate when not needed. Further design refinements are planned, focusing on colors and visual improvements to better explain the project's features. Thank you for the opportunity to work on this challenging project.
