Black Widow Control Box Upgrade

thingiverse

A control box upgrade for the Tevo Black Widow that supports both stock and Mean Well SE-600-24 power supplies. This upgrade is designed to provide easy access to the main board, improved cooling, and additional room for wiring. Key Features: Mounting holes are provided for both the stock and Mean Well SE-600-24 power supplies. The rear cooling fan can be flush-mounted. A rear panel mount USB connector is supported. Stock fasteners are used wherever possible. Additional room is created for wiring. Improved access to the main board is achieved. Additional Accessories: Motherboard Fan Mount: This is used to cool steppers. TEVO External Relay Mount: This provides a secure mounting point for the external relay. This upgrade replaces the bottom and back panel of the existing control box, providing a new mount for the motherboard that offers easy access. It takes advantage of stock fasteners as much as possible. If you're using the Mean Well power supply, additional M3x10 screws will be required. I've added a missing USB connector mount on the back, which I designed specifically for the Amazon-purchased USB connector available here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LRZ8GK2 Quick Tip: When the main board can be powered over USB while the power supply is shut off, a quick solution is to use a x-acto knife and needle nose pliers to remove pin 1 from the usb type B connector of the cable. You can find more information about the pinout by searching online. If you're using the Mean Well SE-600-24 power supply, it's essential to mount your rear cooling fan to draw air into the case for maximum cooling. This is because the Mean Well SE-600-24 fan discharges out the front of the case. If both fans discharge out of the case, they'll be fighting each other and drawing heat back inside the case. When using the Mean Well SE-600-24 power supply, you may need to bend up the tabs on the upgraded power switch slightly to allow the power supply enclosure to clear the switch. Updates: A V2 board has been added that accepts accessory boards. A V3 extended mainboard mount is now available, which allows for customization of the mainboard location and accessories. An accessory board for the TEVO external relay has also been added. Although I haven't personally tested it, I've been provided with dimensions and photos. Please report back on your success or failure. Print Settings: Printer: Tevo Black Widow Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 20% Notes: To maximize the build space in the X direction before printing, place the base print as far left as possible. The base requires the full build width of the Black Widow.
