Black Ram Hand (Robotic/Prosthetic Hybrid) - Mark V

Read how it was made here at Black Ram Industries. The Black Ram Hand was designed to be an innovative assistive technology tool, allowing individuals to create and use their own custom manipulators for specific tasks tailored to their needs. This concept is similar to how robotic grippers and end-effectors are designed with a particular goal in mind. The Black Ram Hand is engineered to help people who have missing fingers or conditions such as Dupuytren's Contracture. It operates using the power of the wrist, requiring the wearer to have enough palm space to push against the device. The hand converts the rotation of the wrist into a linear sliding motion to activate the end gripper. When the wrist is bent downward, the slider pulls back, closing the hand. Conversely, when the wrist is straightened, the slider pushes forward and the hand opens. The Gripper heads are removable, enabling users to swap them out and reconfigure the device to suit their unique needs. I have created two Claw types: Tri-Claw for picking up or catching objects and Two-claw for open-shut grasping of objects. New claw or manipulator types can be attached using 2 screws on the hand piece, with users able to add any gripper type they desire. Some additional grippers are included as extras for people to try out. I recommend starting with the Simple Claw to get a feel for the device before printing other variants. The multi-joint finger requires users to fine-tune the fingers by adjusting a sequence of loose and tight bolts to achieve proper articulation when opening and closing. I suggest beginning with simple or pincer claws first, as the multi-joint fingers can take some tuning to get working correctly.
