A well-preserved black-footed albatross (Phoebastria nigripes, OUVC 10905) head skeleton is presented. This specimen, a natural casualty, was generously donated by the US Fish and Wildlife Service in Hawaii to Ohio University researchers. Scanning of the specimen took place at the Ohio University MicroCT Scanning facility. The original µCT scan data can be obtained from MorphoSource (http://bit.ly/2Zjrfsr), along with a contrast-enhanced diceCT dataset and an STL file. A detailed 3D skull model, downloadable on this site and MorphoSource, was created by Ohio University student Emily Caggiano. Funding for the project was provided by the National Foundation.
