Black & Decker Firestorm 18v base
thingiverse
A base for the Black and Decker Firestorm range of drills for replacing the cells with Lithium 18650 instead of NiCd/NiMh. Base is sized to allow a 6s2p pack. There is enough space between the cells and connector to allow for wires and balance connector. I added some foam above and below the cells to hold them tight. I use hobby chargers which have a balance option but there is probably space in there to put an onboard BMS instead if you want. The balance connector can fit nicely behind the latch - just make a hole to poke it up flush You will need to remove all of the screw holes/mounts from the top part to allow fitment, meaning the 2 halves need to be glued back together once you're done. It's not a perfect fit at the front but plenty ok to revive an old drill. You may have to stretch the latch spring a tad to get it to engage properly or put something under it - This is a tad taller than the original. **** Do not charge this on/with the original charger!!! **** **** Only for those experienced in dealing with lithium cells ****
