In January 2015, the user repaired a "Gripper" component of their BD Workmate and created two replacement designs - one similar to the original and another with reinforcements. The first updated version was uploaded in April 2017 after undergoing double-checking and naming it with 'MM'. All models were saved with 'MM' as well. In November 2017, a redesigned model with smoother sides and additional fillets was shared. In February 2018, the user made another version of the original 2017 design even stronger by adding 45-degree fillets to internal angles and under side wings. Printing instructions include 50% fill, two wall thicknesses, a raft, and support at a bed temperature of 110 degrees Celsius. The part should be printed horizontally for optimal strength. A vertical print resulted in a cosmetically pleasing top but weak layers between the single wall layer and 25% fill. An updated Sketchup file and STL were also uploaded, along with photos of the original part and the user's design. In February 2019, the user printed one version in ABS using a 50% fill on an Ultimaker S5, with plans to add photos later. Both versions were printed using PET G filament on Prusas.
