Bizcocho Vessel Base 91-0023a, Santa Clara Wreck
sketchfab
A section of finely crafted earthenware paste stands out for lacking any signs of glazing. Measuring 8 cm in height, this base serves as a foundation for a relatively slender-walled, wide-mouthed wheel-thrown vessel that is likely either a jar or pitcher. This unglazed ceramic type, known as "bizcocho," reached its peak popularity across the New World between 1500 and 1550.
