Bixler V1.1 Pixhawk / PX4 mount
thingiverse
This is a Bixler V1.1 mount tailored specifically for the PIXHAWK/PX4 autopilot system and its entire range of accessories, offering ample space for the autopilot, RC radio, GPS, and FPV camera to be safely housed. The assembly process is remarkably straightforward, and the included pictures will provide more than enough guidance for successful completion. To guarantee stability and prevent any potential mid-flight mishaps, it's strongly advised that all components be bonded together using a superglue solution once assembled. Located on the bottom plate are strategically designed holes intended specifically for mounting the PX4 unit; however, should you prefer to install the PIXHAWK or another autopilot system instead, simply utilizing double-sided tape is recommended as an effective alternative solution. Post-printing instructions stipulate securing this entire setup firmly onto the Bixler frame using two high-quality rubber bands, which can be precisely placed around the unit, ensuring it remains steadfast throughout any flight operations. In my instance, I found that looping two rubber bands, one positioned at the rear and the other at the front of the structure, effectively reinforced its stability and ensured a safe and successful aerial experience. I originally created this design by taking inspiration from a 2D file I came across in a popular online forum called DIY Drones. This valuable resource featured detailed designs that allowed me to easily create my own laser-cut models. From there, all I needed to do was add the third dimension to these designs and carefully shape them into their final forms – thus yielding the comprehensive mounting solution you see today.
