Bixler 1.1v2 has an open fuselage, which offers ample space for battery and component configurations. We utilize three-cell 3000mAh Zippy Flight Max batteries in our Bixlers, while a friend successfully employs a three-cell 2800mAh unit. Upon closer inspection, we noticed that the fuselage was not only open but also unsupported, lacking any dedicated battery compartment. To address this issue, I designed an insert to provide additional support and create a designated battery area while preserving internal airflow. The insert features strategically placed cooling holes to shield the ESC from potential damage. We print our inserts using rafts exclusively, though you can opt for alternative printing methods if desired. Installation is remarkably straightforward. Simply remove the canopy, slide this insert into the fuselage, secure it with a minimal amount of glue (any type will suffice), and use two toothpicks to lock it in place through the small holes on either side.
